Darfur: Rwanda Peacekeepers launch construction of Secondary School in El Salam

El Fasher, 19 September 2015

Rwanda Peacekeepers serving under the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNAMID) have started the construction of Nusaibah Girls Secondary School in El Salam Internal Displaced Persons Camp (IDP) in El Fasher, the capital of Darfur in Sudan.

The School under construction can accommodate more than 700 students. The project to be executed by Rwanda Defence Forces Peacekeepers deployed in El Fasher Super Camp is sponsored by UNAMID Super Camp Church through Quick Impact Project programme.

The project was launched by the Rwandan Contingent Commander, Col Happy Ruvusha together with the Senior Officials of the Super Camp Church who thanked everyone’s efforts to the construction of Nusaibah Girls Secondary School.
 The construction activities will focus on construction of two classroom blocks, one administrative block and the fence for the school.
Present also at the ceremony were leaders of the school and Second in Command of Rwandan battalion (Rwanbatt44), Lt Col Meshach Sebowa.
