Rwanda peacekeepers secure the inauguration ceremony of the CAR Elected President

Bangui, 30 March 2016

Rwanda Defence Force Peacekeepers (Rwanbatt3) serving under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) has provided outstanding security to the Officials and Participants to the inauguration ceremony of HE Prof Faustin Archange TOUADERA, the elected President of the Central African Republic (CAR). The colourful event was held on 30 March 2016 at Barthelemy Boganda stadium in Bangui, the CAR capital city.

In his speech President Touadera thanked all people of the CAR for entrusting him to lead their Nation, and asked for true reconciliation among all Central Africans. He further commended AU, EU, USA, regional States and MINUSCA for their combined efforts and support to his country.

The inauguration was attended by presidents Denis Sassou Nguesso of the Republic of Congo and   Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of the Equatorial Guinea Republic. Rwanda was represented by Right Honorable Prime Minister Anastase Murekezi and Maj Gen Jack Musemakweli, the Army Chief of Staff.

After the ceremony, the Army Chief of Staff visited and held meeting with Rwandan Contingent in MINUSCA at Rwanbatt3 Headquarters located at M'POKO Socatel camp in Bangui.
