Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College (RDFCSC) is organising the seventh graduation ceremony on 7 June 2019 at RDFCSC in Musanze district. This seventh intake 07 is composed of 47 student officers (Major to Lt Colonel) from Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
Prior to the graduation ceremony, students of this year's Senior Command and Staff Course (SCSC) have organised this Friday night a social dinner celebrated together with their spouses as they rejoice after a well-earned year of combined intensive curriculum in security studies (University of Rwanda) and military strategy (RDFCSC).
The RDF Army Chief of Staff (ACOS), Lt Gen Jean-Jacques Mupenzi who presided over the ceremony on behalf of the RDF Chief of Defence Staff, thanked the leadership of the RDF CSC, the students and their spouses for the part they all played for the success of the training.
“RDF believes that the readiness of its officers and men depends primarily on the psychological and social stability that is driven by having good families. It is therefore proper for me to recognise the role of our spouses in the achievement of this milestone. It is indeed a good tradition to invite spouses to be part of these achievements since by extension they hold the hands of their partners’ in all situations. Thank you for always being there for them,” said Lt Gen Mupenzi.

The aim of the Senior Command and Staff Course (SCSC) is to prepare selected officers for higher appointments by developing their Command and Leadership skills; through providing broad understanding and knowledge of single and joint services, combined and inter agency operations.
When they graduate, these officers will have developed a mind that is flexible, able to conceptualize and analyse security problems in a military perspective, so as to make timely and logical decisions in the contemporary volatile, uncertain and complex operating environment.
