CHIEF OF CIVIL MILITARY COOPERATION ADDRESSES RUBAVU RESIDENTS DURING UBUTWARI TOUR 2026 CONCERT
Rubavu, 30 January 2026
The Chief of Civil Military Cooperation (Chief J9), Col Désiré Migambi Mungamba, today addressed residents of Rubavu District during the Ubutwari Tour 2026 concert, an event held in preparation for the National Heroes’ Day scheduled on February 1, 2026. The concert was organized under this year’s theme “Ubutwari n'Ubumwe bw'Abanyarwanda, Inkingi z’Iterambere” and brought together local leaders, private sector, opinion leaders, and citizens from various sectors.
In his address, Col Migambi highlighted the importance of heroic values such as unity, patriotism, integrity, and sacrifice, noting that these values form the foundation of Rwanda’s identity. He emphasized that heroism is not limited to the battlefield but extends to everyday civic responsibility, selflessness, and commitment to national transformation.
Col Migambi provided a historical overview of Rwanda’s heroism, citing traditions such as Umudende, Impotore, and Gucanirwa uruti as symbols of bravery and national service. He recalled the sacrifices of heroes and connected them to the RPA mission to restore national unity, dignity, and sovereignty, and the halting of Genocide against the Tutsi.
The Governor of Western Province Jean Bosco Ntibitura stated that the event serves as a reminder of Rwanda’s pride in its heroes and their sacrifices for liberation and peace.
He urged citizens, especially the youth, to uphold heroic values such as patriotism, diligence, and integrity, stressing that Rwanda’s achievements must be protected and enhanced across all sectors.
