FACULTY MEMBERS AND STUDENTS FROM THE NATIONAL DEFENCE COLLEGE OF NIGERIA VISIT RWANDA DEFENCE FORCE HQS

Today, a delegation composed of 20 Faculty and student officers from the National Defence College of Nigeria visited Rwanda Defence Force headquarters. They were received by the RDF Chief of Defence Staff, Gen MK Mubarakh.
The delegation led by Rear Admiral OM Olotu, the Commandant of the college; is in Rwanda for a study tour from 20 to 24 February 2024.
Speaking after the audience, Rear Admiral OM Olotu said “We have senior officers from RDF at our Armed Forces Command and Staff College and there is also a desire to welcome senior officers to our National Defence College. The CDS also mentioned that the government of Rwanda also desires to establish a similar college and when the time comes the RDF will look up to Nigeria in the of assistance, exchange of directing staff and members of faculty.”
He also highlighted that this year's research theme for college students revolves around "strengthening national unity and security," and Rwanda serves as a model when it comes to the study of a united society.
In the morning the delegation visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial and Campaign against Genocide Museum. Subsequently, they received a briefing from the Defence Spokesperson, Brig Gen Ronald Rwivanga, on the RDF transformation journey.
