Musanze, 11 October 2024
Today, 76 officers, including 72 from the Rwanda Defence Force, 2 from the Rwanda National Police, and 2 from the Rwanda Correctional Service, successfully completed a rigorous 5-month Junior Command and Staff Course at the RDF Command and Staff College in Nyakinama, Musanze District.
Speaking at the event, the Chief of Defence Staff and Guest of honor Gen MK Mubarakh congratulated the graduates on their milestone achievement and emphasized that the RDF’s education and training programs are essential for in-service development and maintaining a high level of professionalism.
“As you depart this College, you have a significant role to play in our country’s transformation in the years ahead. You must contribute meaningfully to the positive side in the clash of ideas defining the world today. His Excellency Paul Kagame, The President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief, has consistently emphasised the importance of rigorous training in preparing individuals to effectively defend national interests and address defence challenges,” said Gen MK Mubarakh.
Awards were presented to graduates who excelled in various aspects of the course. The overall best student was Capt Michael Nsengiyumva, while Maj Vedaste Masabo received the Best College Research Paper award.
The pass-out ceremony was attended by Generals and Senior Officers from the RDF and Police, alongside the graduates' families, friends, religious leaders, and local authorities from the Northern Province.
