MINUSCA SECTOR NORTH-EAST COMMANDER COMMENDS RWANDA LEVEL II HOSPITAL FOR EXCELLENT WORK IN SAVING LIVES
The Sector North-East Commander of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), Brigadier General Joseph Douglas Mokwena, has commended Rwanda Level II Hospital peacekeepers for their outstanding medical services and commitment to saving lives in the Central African Republic (CAR).
Brig Gen Mokwena made the remarks today during his visit to Rwanda Level II Hospital in Bria, where he met with the medical personnel and familiarized himself with the hospital’s operations and capabilities.
He was welcomed by the Rwanda Level II Hospital Contingent Commander, Colonel Dr Christian Mukwesi, who briefed him on the hospital’s medical operations, capabilities, and services provided to MINUSCA personnel, as well as providing free medical services to the local population.
During the visit, Col Dr Mukwesi also briefed the Sector Commander on the hospital’s readiness and capacity to respond to emergencies. Brig Gen Mokwena then toured the hospital camp and visited its various medical services to gain a first-hand understanding of its operations.
The Sector Commander commended the Rwanda Level II Hospital medical team for their professionalism and high level of preparedness to respond effectively to health emergencies and potential disease outbreaks.
The visit highlighted the important role played by Rwanda Level II Hospital in supporting the health and operational readiness of MINUSCA personnel, while also contributing to the well-being of the local population in Bria.
