MMI Staff pay tribute to victims of Genocide against Tutsi and support vulnerable survivors

Today, the Military Medical Insurance (MMI) Staff commemorated the 29th anniversary “Kwibuka 29” of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi at Jali Memorial site in Jali sector, Gasabo District, Kigali.
Along with the local leaders and other security organs in Jali sector, the DG of MMI, Lt Col Dr King KAYONDO along with MMI staff members visited the memorial site, layed wreaths and paid tribute to more than 25,000 victims at the memorial site.
Semarenga Placide, a survivor of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, shared testimony narrating the vicious times they went through during the genocide against the Tutsi in Jali sector and in neighborhood sectors including Nduba , Gikomero sectors.
Lt Col Dr King KAYONDO, the IBUKA District Representative, and Jean Marie Vianney Ntaganzwa, the division manager of human resources in Gasabo district and the guest of honor gave speeches.
They thanked Rwanda Patriotic Army under the leadership of his H.E President Paul Kagame for the important role of stopping the killings and rescuing many people during the liberation struggle.
Staff members of Military Medical Insurance donated seven (07) cows to needy genocide survivors, who reside at Jali and Nduba sectors, Gasabo district.
