RDF ARMY CHIEF OF STAFF VISITS RWANDAN BILATERAL FORCES IN CAR
Bangui, 2 December 2025
The Army Chief of Staff of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), Major General Vincent Nyakarundi, together with the Chief of General Staff of the Central African Republic Armed Forces (FACA), Major General Zépherin Mamadou, visited the Rwandan bilateral forces stationed in Bimbo.
Maj Gen Nyakarundi conveyed the message of RDF leadership, expressing deep appreciation for the professionalism, discipline, and outstanding performance of the Rwandan troops. He commended them for their dedication and sacrifice while serving far from home, and provided an update on the security situation in Rwanda and the region. He also urged them to remain exemplary ambassadors of Rwanda throughout their mission.
In his remarks, Maj Gen Zépherin Mamadou praised the Rwandan trainers for their ongoing efforts in building capacity of FACA personnel. He further acknowledged the strong defence cooperation between the two countries.
He also expressed gratitude to both the President of Rwanda and the Central African Republic for their continued support. The excellent collaboration between Rwandan forces, local communities, and CAR’s security institutions was also highlighted.
Rwanda has deployed bilateral force protection troops in the Central African Republic since 2020 under a defence cooperation agreement.
