RDF Medics and Peacekeepers in Bria decorated with UN Service Medals

Rwandan peacekeepers of RWAMED IV Level II Hospital, RWA BG 1 (Rwanda Battle Group1) and 11 Sector East Staff Officers serving under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Central African Republic (MINUSCA) were decorated with United Nations Peacekeeping medals in recognition for the professionalism and thoughtful service in carrying out their duties of bringing peace and stability in Central Africa Republic (CAR).
The awarding ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Sector East Commander, Col Chris Dagadu who applauded Rwandan peacekeepers for their day and night tireless and hardworking while fulfilling out their assigned duties to the Sector East and other areas in MINUSCA.
He said that the two contingents performed various activities in their respective field since their deployments, adding that the Rwanda referral hospital is dotted with modern equipments and qualified doctors with various specialties and appreciated the service rendered by them in restoring the smile of the patients.
“After its arrival in Bria, the Rwanda Battle Group1 managed to restore peace and security in the entire area, provided security to the various strategic places of Bangui,” said Col Dagadu.
The Sector East Head of Office said that he has hope that Rwandan peacekeepers will continue to support the implementation of Khartoum peace accords recently signed between armed groups and the Government of Central African Republic.
The event was also attended by local leaders such as the Prefet of the Haute Kotto Prefecture, Sous Prefet of Bria and different Chiefs of villages.
