Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College (RDFCSC) students have embarked on a weeklong National Study Tour (NST 2022) as part of the course curriculum. This year’s theme is, “Socio-Economic Development through Social Impact Initiatives”.
The tour will be carried out from 7 to 12 February 2022 in all 4 provinces and the City of Kigali. It begun today with a policy level briefing by the Ministry of Local Government (MINALOC) and the City of Kigali.
The general objective of NST 2022 for Senior Command and Staff Course 10 is to establish the link between national security and socio-economic development.
The Minister of Local Government, Hon Jean Marie Vianney Gatabazi, the CEO of Rwanda Governance Board (RGB), Dr Usta Kaitesi and City Mayor, Pudence Rubingisa met the students and staff of RDFCSC this morning to present the policy level briefing before the students embark on a provincial tour.
“We believe that it is a good opportunity to always learn from each other. You are on course but the MINALOC Fraternity is ready to also learn from you. We value continuous learning to be able to achieve more in line with our mandate to improve Governance; which enables other sectors to perform well not only at policy level but also at the implementation level countrywide,” Minister Gatabazi told the students.
Course participants include 48 student officers from Rwanda and allied countries namely Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Senegal, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
