RWANDA PEACEKEEPERS PROVIDE FREE MEDICAL TREATMENT IN BRIA TOWN

Today, Rwandan peacekeepers (Battle Group VI), operating under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), provided free medical services to residents of Bria town, DAHOUGA village.
Medical services offered primarily focused on consultations and treatments of infectious diseases such as malaria, upper respiratory tract infections, and intestinal parasites. Additionally, blood pressure check-ups and body mass index measurements were conducted for the screening of non-communicable diseases. Dental and ophthalmology services were also provided during this outreach
The Mayor of Bria town, Mr. Maurice Balekouzou, commended the strong bond between Rwandans and Central Africans. He expressed gratitude to the Rwandan Peacekeepers for their valuable assistance in delivering healthcare to the locals, which significantly enhance the overall well-being of the population.
Lt Col Tharcisse MPFIZI, the Commanding Officer of Battle Group VI, said that in addition to protecting civilians, Rwandan peacekeepers are committed to promoting the well-being of the citizens they are mandated to protect. This includes providing essential medical services to ensure the good health of the local population. He also stressed that they will continue collaborating with the community to uphold the mandate of supporting peace and stability in the Central African Republic.
