Rwandan Peacekeepers provide medical services to Sudanese
Darfur, 12 December 2019
Rwandan Battalion Peacekeepers (Rwanbatt53) under United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) provided free dental and ophthalmology medical services to citizens in Nertiti locality. The activity was jointly organized by Rwanbatt 53 and Nertiti Health Centre.
One of the patients, Muhamad Ahmad who underwent ophthalmology services applauded RDF peacekeepers for offering the free medical service. “Normally we get these kinds of services too far from here and it costs us money and time,” he said.
Dr Issa Ibrahim Arbab, the Head of Nertiti Health Center commended Rwandan peacekeepers for the medical assistance.
About 50 patients received ophthalmology and dental services during the one day medical outreach.
