SPLA delegation visits Rwanda
Eight (8) General Officers and one (1) Senior Officer from the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) General Headquarters are in Rwanda from 26 July – 02 August 2008 on a study visit. The team is led by Maj Gen Kuol Arob, Head of Joint Technical Committee of the Joint Defence board.
The study visit is a part and continuation of the Basic Senior Staff and Command Course that the nine officers are currently undertaking. The purpose of the visit is to provide a practical opportunity for learning about the organization and management of the military and defence establishments, the Rwandan experience in defence transformation and the overall socio–economic establishment of Rwanda.
The team will meet with the senior officials of the Ministry of Defence, RDF Headquarters, Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Ministry of Local Government, Rwanda National Demobilization and Reintegration Commission, Rwanda National Unity and Reconciliation Commission, Office in charge of National Parks and Tourism in Rwanda (ORTPN), Military Medical Insurance (MMI) and Zigama – Credit and Savings Scheme (CSS). The team will also visit Gisozi Genocide Memorial Centre.
