UNMISS DEPUTY FORCE COMMANDER VISITS RWANDAN PEACEKEEPERS IN JUBA

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) Deputy Force Commander, Major General Robert Yaw Affram, visited Rwandan peacekeepers serving with RWANBATT-3 in Durupi, Juba, on 18 August 2026. He was accompanied by staff members from UNMISS Headquarters.

Major General Affram was received by the Deputy Contingent Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Maurice KAYINAMURA, who briefed him on the contingent’s mandate, ongoing operations, and key operational challenges affecting the effective execution of assigned tasks.

The UNMISS Deputy Force Commander commended the Rwandan peacekeepers for their professionalism, discipline, commitment, readiness, and continued contribution to the UNMISS mandate. He encouraged them to maintain their high standards and remain focused on effectively carrying out their responsibilities.

He urged RWANBATT-3 to remain vigilant, adaptable, and prepared to respond effectively to emerging security and operational requirements.

During the visit, Major General Affram  toured the camp and inspected the contingent’s operational equipment, capabilities, and general operational environment.
