The Military Tribunal ruled on 30 January that the provisional detention of the former Government of Rwanda Officer, 2Lt Henri Jean Claude Seyoboka be extended for 30 days to allow more time for investigations.
Pronouncing the verdict on the Military Prosecution request to extend 30 days provisional detention for Genocide suspect 2Lt Seyoboka, the ruling Military tribunal said that the Court had accepted the Military Prosecution request to allow more time for investigations into the case based on Article 104 of the Law relating to the code of criminal procedure.
“After analysing the arguments of both sides, the Court rules that provisional detention for 2Lt Henri Jean Claude Seyoboka be extended for one month”, the presiding Judge announced. The suspect who was absent during today’s hearing has the right to lodge appeal against the court's decision within five days.
2Lt Henri Jean Claude Seyoboka who was recently deported by Canada is charged with four counts that include Genocide, crimes against humanity, murder and rape.
