The Military Tribunal rules 30 days provisional detention against suspects in death of late Ntivuguruzwa Aimé Yvan

The Military Tribunal has ruled that Pte Ishimwe J Claude and Pte Nshimyumukiza J Pierre should remain in provisional custody for 30 days. The duo are suspected for brutally shooting and killing Late Ntivuguruzwa Aimé Yvan, 28 years, in the night of 9-10 May 2017, in Gikondo Cell, Kigarama Sector, Kicukiro District.

The Court’s decision was based on the gravity of charges against the suspects, according to Judge Maj Charles Sumanyi who pronounced the decision on 27 June 2017, during a public hearing held in Gikondo suburbs, Kicukiro District.

Pte Ishimwe J Claude and Pte Nshimyumukiza J Pierre, on 23 June 2017, appeared before the Military Tribunal in a pre-trial detention hearing on murder case accusation and related charges.

The charges against Pte Ishimwe J Claude and Pte Nshimyumukiza J Pierre , according to the Military Prosecution include: murder, extortion by violence or constraint, degrading or damaging property belonging to others, illegal use of firearm and insubordination.
