APR volleyball clubs (Men & Women) emerged champions as the two Rwandan teams won 2017 Nyerere International Championship that ended on last Sunday in the United Republic of Tanzania, Dar es Salaam.
The tournament organized by Tanzania Amateur Volleyball Association (Tava) to honour the “Father of the nation” Mwalimu Julius Nyerere attracted 19 teams from Rwanda, Zanzibar, and Tanzania.
In Men’s Category, APR Volleyball Club was crowned champion after beating Jeshi Stars Volley ball club from Tanzania three sets to nil (3-0).
The same victory also goes to APR Women Volley ball club after defeating Jeshi Stars women volley ball club three sets to nil (3-0).
The teams from Rwandan crowned champions were awarded a trophy each and one million of Tanzanian shillings while the second teams (Jeshi Stars, both men and women) pocketed 500,000 Tanzania Shillings.
Teams from Rwanda crowned Champions of 2017 Nyerere International Championship thanked the support from Rwandan High Commission in Tanzania and Rwandan Community in Dar es Salaam.
