Students of Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College (RDFCSC) Intake 06 started on 5 February their National Study Tour to research on the education sector as one of the driving force of Rwanda’s socio-economic development. The National Study Tour, part of the course’s academic curriculum, will be conducted under the theme “Rwanda’s Education Sector Policies and Programmes and How they Contribute Towards Sustainable Peace, Security and Economic Development”.
The study tour is generally aimed at practicing students on learned methods of conducting field research and particularly at establishing the link between good education, sustainable peace, security and economic development. The Students and Staff College today started the National Study Tour at the Ministry of Education Headquarters in Kigali with a central policy level briefing.
After the briefing, the group was dispatched in four sub-groups to visit the remaining four administrative provinces. Two case study Districts per province have been selected namely Musanze and Gicumbi in the Northern Province, Kayonza and Rwamagana in the Eastern Province, Huye and Nyanza in the Southern Province, Karongi and Rubavu in the Western Province.
At the end of the one week-long National Study Tour which will be concluded on 10 February 2018, students will merge their findings and propose practical recommendations to the concerned government ministries and agencies.
