Rwanda and Tanzania military experts meet on bilateral defence cooperation

 

 A bilateral meeting of Military Technical Experts representing the United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Rwanda convened at Tanzania People’s Defence Forces Headquarters in Dar es Salaam from 16- 18 April 2018 to finalize the drafting of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two sister countries on Defence Cooperation. Maj Gen K.P. Njelekela, the Judge Advocate General led the TPDF delegation whereas Maj Gen F Safari, Director General of Defence Policy and Strategy was leading the RDF delegation.

 The joint Technical Experts agreed on the draft Memorandum of Understanding on Defence Cooperation that could be signed by respective Ministers of Defence in the near future.  The signing of this Defence framework will be a tangible step towards deepening cooperation between the two East African nations.
