The RDF Citizen Outreach Programme 2018 was launched on 23 April 2018, in Southern Province where the Minister of Agriculture Hon Geraldine Mukeshimana together with the Rwanda Defence Force Army Chief of Staff, Lt Gen Jacques Musemakweli joined more than 590 farmers in Kamonyi District to plant onions on 76 Ha in Mugina Sector, Mbati Cell.
The Minister of Agriculture, Hon Geraldine Mukeshimana urged the citizen of Mugina Sector to work hard and maintain discipline in their activities if they want to achieve development. She also assured them that the Government is ready to provide them with necessary support in order to achieve progress.
In his remarks, the Army Chief of Staff, Lt Gen Jacques Musemakweli, assured the population that RDF is always ready to work for their benefits.
“RDF soldiers are your children, we are carrying these activities serving you as your children” he emphasized.
The Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Citizen Outreach Programme was also launched in Ruhango District, Ntongwe Sector, Kebero Cell , Gasuna Village. RDF together with residents of Kebero Cell joined their efforts in soil erosion control activity. Terraces were dug on more than 6 Ha of soil. The activities were launched the Executive Secretary of Women Council, Jackiline Kamanzi together with the Deputy Reserve Force Chief of Staff Maj Gen Jerome NGENDAHIMANA.
The launch of RDF Citizen Outreach Programme 2018 was done on 23 April in Southern Province and not on 20 April like in other provinces due to activities of the remembrance of Genocide against the Tutsi.
