The Final Planning Event of the multinational peacekeeping training Exercise Shared Accord 18 held at Rwanda Military Academy (RMA) from 4 to 8 June ended yesterday with good plans to ensure smooth exercise execution. The Exercise is scheduled in Rwanda from 14 to 29 August 2018 at RMA, Gako. The organisers and planners of the Exercise confirmed their readiness.
“As host, Rwanda Defence Force is committed to honour its pledges and commitment for the successful conduct of the Exercise Shared Accord 18. Plans are in place to ensure smooth exercise execution. We also look forward to sharing our experience and lessons with other participants”, Major General Innocent Kabandana the Exercise Director disclosed.
The multinational and multidimensional exercise is aimed at improving the interoperability and capabilities of the participating military, police, inter-governmental and non-governmental organisations to respond to United Nations/African Union mandated peace operations.
Col. Brian Elliott, the U.S. Army Africa senior advisor for the Exercise Shared Accord 18 also reported that they have good plans for the successful conduct of the Exercise Shared 18.
“Yes, we have accomplished all objectives we set off to accomplish this week, I think we have good plans in place, and I think when we come back in August will have a very successful exercise because we had such good planning event this week”, Col. Brian Elliot said.
About 200 military, police and civilians from Angola, Botswana, Congo Brazaville, Gabon, Italy, Madagascar, Malawi, Morocco, Netherlands, Rwanda, Senegal, Zambia, and the Unites States are expected to participate in the Peacekeeping Command Post Exercise Shared Accord 18 in August at Rwanda Military Academy, Gako.
