Senior officers from ten countries graduate at Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College

Forty-five (45) Senior Officers from Rwanda Defence Force, Rwanda National Police and Allied Defence Forces from Africa and Europe have graduated from the-one-year long Senior Command and Staff Course Intake-06 at RDF Command and Staff College (RDF CSC) in Musanze District.

The graduation ceremony was presided over by Honorable Minister of Defence, Gen James Kabarebe, on behalf of HE Paul Kagame, the President of the Republic of Rwanda and Commander-in-Chief of Rwanda Defence Force.

In his key note address, the Guest of Honor pointed out that the knowledge acquired by the Senior Officers equipped them with competences to deal with security challenges. “I strongly believe that this course has been of immense value towards developing your intellectual and professional competences, and towards improving your leadership abilities in recognizing the importance of operational and tactical understanding of the current security environment”, Gen Kabarebe told the graduates.

Forty-five (45) graduates were awarded with the symbol ‘Passed Staff College-psc’ certificate and among them 29 also were awarded a Master of Arts degree in Security studies by the National University of Rwanda.

Maj Claver Batunzi from Rwanda Defence Force was the best overall student followed by Maj Castern Henry Mwemba from Zambia who was the second best overall student and at the same time the best allied student while the best college research paper award was won by Lt Col Luke Kamanga from Malawi Defence Force.

The Senior Officers who graduated come from Czech Republic, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda and Zambia.
