CAR Minister of Defence in Rwanda for implementation of agreement on defence cooperation

Kigali,  9 December 2019

The Minister of Defence of the Central African Republic, Marie Noëlle Koyara visits  Rwanda from 09-11 December 2019. Today she met with Maj Gen Albert Murasira, the Rwanda Defence Minister. They discussed together the way forward for the recent signed Agreement on Defence Cooperation between the Republic of Rwanda and the Republic of Central Africa.

Minister Marie Noëlle Koyara said that together with her counterpart they have agreed that a group of defence experts from both side will meet very soon to go deep in the agreement and come up with a roadmap of bilateral cooperation that will thereafter be implemented by both parties.

Minister Koyara commended Rwanda for her contribution to peace and security in Central Africa Republic. “What Rwanda does in CAR and elsewhere in terms of peacekeeping is very commendable. Rwanda has played key role in supporting the CAR since our country was affected by the crisis until today. Rwanda has done this as true friend by also showing a good example in finding African Solutions to African problems as this is always promoted by our two Heads of States, President Touadéra  and President Kagame” she said.

 CAR Minister of Defence also visited Kigali Genocide Memorial earlier today.
